Lizards II

I finished up the second lot of Wargames Atlantic Lizardmen this morning. This group is armed with some very 19th century-style firearms and should make for a neat Sci-Fi or Pulp force. Other than the weapons, I did everything the same as I did with the previous 12 spear-armed Lizzies. Cheerful and colorful for sure!

Wayne, Mark and I are supposed to be getting together for a game of Shakedown tomorrow, my modern What A Cowboy customization. Looking forward to that for sure and I'll of course get some pictures for the blog. Be well!

  1. Ohh they look superb. Did you use contrast paints, or multiple shading?

    1. Thanks much! Most of the model is very traditional base color + drybrushed lighter shade. In this case it is P3 Murderous Magenta followed by drybrushing the entire model with the same, lightened with white paint. Straps and the loin cloths are all P3 Moudly Ochre. Eyes are Vallejo Mecha Color Magenta. guns are predominantly Vallejo MC Flat Brown and bits picked out in Vallejo MC Natural Steel. The leader's sword is P3 Boiler Black. I hit the guns and leather straps with Army Painter Strong Tone (brown wash). The pupils of their eyes, being tiny recesses, we very ready to take just enough Black wash to darken the pupil. The black and white patterned scales on the backs are just basic black and white + semi steady hand. I did actually use Army Painter Zealot Yellow Speed Paint (very similar to contrast paint) on the loincloths to make the pop because if you water it down just a hair , it's a great yellow wash for bringing out folds and creases. Bases were painted with cheap craft paint store reddish brown and khaki.
