Small Paint

I put together some Battletech bases a week or so out of spare hex bases I had, combined with 6mm WW2 and cold-war leftovers. It was a fun little project which netted five AFVs and six infantry stands for my Marik forces.

Soviet infantry and heavy weapons getting time-machined forward quite a ways.

And just the vehicles:

The APCs are Leopard 1 / Roland carriers without their turrets / launchers. The smaller tanks will be SRM tanks and are M3 Stuarts with the Roland turrets!

  1. Nicely done. Good detail on this scale is an achievement.

  2. Battle tech is such a weird interface of tech levels. I'm sure cold war tanks would fit in just fine. Is the Roland turret refer to a battle tech item, or a real (cold war/WW2) thing?

    1. And let's face it, they're really just tokens anyway... The Roland missile was a French/German SAM first fielded in 1977. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roland_(missile)

    2. Interesting bit of history there. It's surprising that a system that old was able to take down planes in the Iraq war.
